Ecuador. Day 3

Started the day in a nice lazy Ecuadorian way.  After showering, it was off the the H Bar and Coffee spot that we have really enjoyed for two mornings.  Today, we indulged in two more cups of delicious high-mountain bean coffee and Dave and Victoria's special French Toast.  They make it with a fruit of your choice stuffed into the middle of a sliced piece of French baguette.  Then grill it like you would normally grill French toast.  It was topped with fresh sliced strawberries and bananas with some warm maple syrup on the side.  Very Very good !!    Joe had a wonderful omelet that had a little pop of fresh basil in it.  This little breakfast bar has quickly become a favourite stop of ours.

After breakfast, it was a walk further into town to the Las Olas sales office.  We wanted to 'touch and feel' some of the interior samples that they now have for viewing.  While there, we met Pasquel (sorry if I spelled your name wrong sir !) who answered a lot of our questions.  He is originally from Quebec but arrived here in Ecuador via Maurituas.  We took a tricycle taxi back to the apartment to grab a couple of things and were picked up by Dave and Kim to go out for lunch.  And what lunch it was !!  Joe had the most amazing giant grilled prawns and I had a chicken scallopini with a almond-mushroom sauce ... Both were absolutely salivatingly (yes, I know that isn't a real word !) delicious.  One thing we know for sure about this Bahia ... The food is amazing everywhere you go !!  Fresh and full of flavour and ridiculously cheap !

It was back to the sales office after lunch where after more of our questions were answered, Joe and I signed on the dotted line for our new ocean/beach front property at Las Olas Ecuador.  It will become our new winter home for 7 months of the year.  We won't likely move in until late next spring but we are very excited.  The development is situated in the most stunning valley that is green and lush and backs on to a huge nature reserve.  It starts at the ocean and ends up well into the valley.  Homes overlook the golf course from one side of the valley. This stunning golf course winds its way through the magnificent ceibo trees and lush vegetation.  It should be grown in and ready for golf by next year when we are here. There is a par three that would equal any stunning ocean front par 3 in the world !!

This little city has really grown on us in the 3 days that we have been here.  Yes, it is a 3rd world country but the people are gentle and kind, the pace is slow, the drivers respect each other and everyone greets you on the street.  The property is a 15 minute drive out of the city - just like what we have at Predator Ridge.  A beautiful little community to live in but a city with all the amenities just a few minutes away.

It is an exciting time for us and to quote my Joe, "what a wonderful adventure this will be".  We are ready for our new adventure and very excited to be doing something so different !
